Fly like an Eagle! New name, new look and new shape! The three Eagle sizes cater for every wind strength or rider style – just fly like an Eagle!
Designed for the easiest and fastest sailing there is. CAD design process allows controlled rocker line and a clean power V with no edges that could disturb the water flow, just perfect smoothness! This smooth shape enables gybes in all conditions that are direct, stable and always enable planing throughout. Supported by a clean power V, the CAD rocker offers everything - early planing, control, speed and a great deal of maneuverability. The outline is designed to go along with the volume and the rocker, a finely tuned curve with enough centre-width for planing without any effort, yet narrower in the tail to allow top speed and maneuvers.
Features:
- CAD designed and CAM machined
- Faster, early planing and improved rocker from Raceboards and Skate/Hawk
- Control concaves for early planing, control and smooth riding
- New manoeuvre rails, a little fuller and softer for more speed, control and manoeuvres
- Shorter in length - for less excess weight, lower swing weight/equal volume flow for balanced shape
- Rounded pintail tail for smooth jibing and control
- Integrated heel footpads
- Eagle prepreg high performance fin
- Optional integrated nose shield – thermo formed part on nose avoids structural damages
Fanatic shaper Sebastian Wenzel explains the Eagle concept:
“We designed the Eagle range to be our easiest Freemove boards ever, for planing and control with great top speed. So you can learn and progress on these shapes. Being easy does not mean there is less performance, rather the Eagle offers all levels of performance to match your skills.”
Carbon Sandwich Technology:
Uses the best quality and highest technical specification of carbon material currently available on the market. A perfect weight to stiffness ratio, as a result of its very fine weave. Carbon sandwich in combination with additional glass-layers, to increase ding resistance, is used in the Eagles.

”Highly recommended accessible all-around freeride”
“Exceptionally well-balanced and easy board to sail…off the plane stable and spacious…transition from non-planing to blasting is super smooth…one of the biggest boards in the test (feeling bigger than many 110l boards) and it can carry a big sail, push upwind easily or simply blast back and forth requiring very little skill to sail fast and comfortably…intermediate can use the inboard strap positions to learn finer points of footstraps and planing…once more expert it’s also a great board for hammering along with a big sail…fulfills both roles so well because it’s so well-balanced and comfortable to sail….tail width gives the Eagle great stability, early planing and big sail carrying potential…very smooth and predictable gyber…guest testers found the Eagle to be fast, stable, forgiving and good upwind.
Overall: For easy intermediate blasting right up to blasting for the more advanced sailors the Eagle 101 is very easy to recommend. Great with sails from 5.5 to 8.0”

At A Glance
The Eagle is Fanatic’s all-new freemove board series, replacing the Triple-X as their “easiest board ever for planing and control with a great top speed.” The 101 is the smallest in a three board range that has been designed and machined precisely by shaper Sebastian Wenzel using CAD/CAM technology. Produced in carbon sandwich construction, it is a complete departure from its predecessor, with a smooth round outline, being quite tubby in profile until it thins out in the ‘last minute’ nose kick. Well finished with excellent fittings, it is an attractive looking machine with a clean, fun appearance that draws the eye.
Ride and Handling
On the water the 101 feels very short and compact at idle, although its volume is well distributed around its mid-section, providing good stability and allowing it to take a 7.0m without trouble. As power comes on the Eagle’s early planing performance is stunning, rising onto the surface of the water instinctively and requiring very little rider input. As easy to use as the Triple-X, the difference with the Eagle is that there is so much more life to its ride, feeling alive and exciting underfoot and encouraging the rider to push their ability. On top of this, its effortless handling and practicality belies its speed, as the 101 is also deceptively fast; although perhaps not possessing that ‘extra knot’ compared to some here, the relative ease in which it achieves its speed makes it more than a match for most, in the hands of all but the expert rider. The deckpads are another of the board’s commendable features – with the built-in heel bumpers fitting the arch of the foot, the rider feels very connected and involved in the board’s every move, enhancing the level of control and making it very comfortable for long periods of use. We also felt the fin provided was well suited to the 101, never losing traction whilst giving the rider confidence to drive hard against it and point high upwind.
Manoeuvres In transition the Eagle is a truly definitive freemove hull, essentially being suited for straight-line work but possessing the ability, ease and energy to encourage the rider to try new manoeuvres. With an excellent gybing range, it can suit any rider ability or style, cutting a clean smooth arc and retaining its speed whilst its wide flat deck provides a great deal of stability during the foot change. Push hard and it will respond, although not biting aggressively and requiring concentration in harsh chop. Whilst we believe the Eagle is undoubtedly best suited with a double back strap set up, its exciting nature encouraged us to try it in a freestyle mode with a single back strap, where we were somewhat surprised by its ability. Although requiring significant effort to release and pop, once sliding on its nose the 101 was incredibly smooth and controllable, showing just what potential this board has.
For: Compact lively captivating ride, combined with a real ease of use.
Verdict
The Eagle is in a completely different league to its predecessor, offering early planing and straight-line ease with a manoeuvre potential that makes it a definitive freemove board on the market. It comes well recommended for those with manoeuvre-oriented sailing styles and aspirations.
EAGLE 114 Planchemag 286/2006 (France):
“…One of the easiest jibe in the group… Best points: easy and homogeneous... Not a physical board… Good speed sensations with a better free sensation than the rest… A super comfortable board, real freeride-oriented, that offers comfort and easiness with a good overall stability. Will suit a wide range of windsurfers….”
EAGLE 101 surf Magazin 04/06 (Germany):
"...Ambitioned freetime-racer profit as much as gybe-intermediates from the good-natured manoeuvre qualities. The Fanatic is planing especially through medium radies in less wind and even small mistakes are not a problem. Like that duck jibes and power jibes are not a problem... surf-tipp: For sportive freerider, intermediates, speedster and sportive fast power jibes..."
EAGLE 114 Windsurf UK 04-06:
"...One of the easiest boards to use here, every time we stepped on the Eagle it surpriesed us with its potential. Highly recommended for the intermediate looking for allround performance, it provides masses of room for growth..."
