Slalom continues to grow and expand as a discipline, not only on the PWA World Tour, but also worldwide the trend towards easy to use yet high performance slalom shapes continues, Fanatic being one of the leaders in modern slalom board design. Countless hours on the race course of the PWA have proved the performance level of our Falcon Slalomboards, as well as on national competitions and GPS communities.

Many of our 2008 shapes have been in the line for 2 years, both in freeride and also now in slalom. The 2 most used boards of our race team in the 2007 season were the Falcon 90 and 125 – these 2 shapes are on such a high performance level, that we decided to leave them unchanged for 2008 too, just a slight name change to Falcon 89/124 and a fresh graphic. Also our Falcon 145 has been such a light wind success that there was no reason to change it, continuing with the exact same shape, fin and graphic from the 07 model.

We focussed on improving the performance of the two other sizes in our Falcon line, namely the new 79 and 104, with all the features detailed below: Speed is only one ingredient - control, gibing and ease of use are also major characteristics, this is also where the focus has been on our 2008 line. A slight modification of the bottom shape leads to more control and speed.

This modification is a smoother transition from the double concave of the center of the board towards the tail. This double concave continues through the mono concave all the way to the area around the front footstraps and delivers extra power and control. Our highly tuned CAD scoop-rocker line remains in place, as it is the perfect synthesis of power, acceleration and control. This in combination with the wider tails and the resulting straighter outline is the ultimate combination of performance and control. These are the key features to be the fastest.

- Redesigned double/mono concave bottom shape to ensure smooth water flow and additional power

For 2008 our Falcon boards will not be supplied with fins, due to a clear request from our key markets to give customers a lower retail board price, to allow them to choose their own fin(s) for the maximum range possible. We will post shortly a detailed list of fins used by our pro and National riders, with recommendations for fins/sails per Falcon size as a guide. Only the Falcon Slalom 145 comes with a fin, the rest without.
