Sailworks now offer a complete range of RDM masts. The BACKBONE masts have been specifically developed to replicate the dynamic tensioning and shaping profiles of a conventional diameter masts, by purposely accounting for the effects that the reduction in mast diameter produces on sails cut for conventional diameter masts. Up until now, an RDM masts used on a sail designed around a conventional mast typically causes a increase in boom depth with the draft profile moved forward, and a radical reduction in head and upper leech tension.  The BACKBONE masts specifically correct these shaping and tensioning imbalances caused by the reduction in mast diameter. 

The BACKBONE thick wall, small diameter masts intended for wavesailing and radical high wind use are 100% guaranteed against breakage.  Each BACKBONE mast comes with a UV reflective, padded carrying case and boom adapter.  BACKBONE masts are 100% compatible with all Sailworks Revolution, Hucker and Retro sails from 1998 through 2006
